Modeling 101

You've made the bold decision that you are going to be a model. So, now what? How do you prepare?

I think any job in the creative arts and entertainment industry, there are great rewards, with doing work that you love. And, on the other hand, it can be extra challenging and time consuming. You have to have a good head on your shoulders, study the industry, and weigh the pros and cons, just like anything else.

Do your education. Study the Supermodels. Study modeling poses in the mirror. Know your craft and perfect it. Also, prepare yourself. Be inspired. You have to be passionate and dedicated to succeed. My favorite Supermodel of the moment is Gigi Hadid. Find a model that has a similar look, this can help build your confidence and know how you can be marketed.

Mentally and physically being prepared are important, as is your safety. Check references. Take a trusted friend with you to a go see or booking. These are all ways to ensure as best as possible you are protected.

Create a strong portfolio. Research photographers who have a style you admire for the type of photographs you are looking to achieve. A composite modeling card is an industry standard for every model. Be confident and show them what you got!
